Named for the step that anchored my life
If you're reading this, there's a good chance mornings are your hardest hour.
Maybe the alarm goes off and the first thing that hits you isn't the morning light—it's the weight. The thing you're fighting, the habit you're breaking, the relationship you're trying to rebuild. Whether you're in recovery yourself or just fighting to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday, you've figured out what most people never do: the first hour of the day sets the tone for everything that follows.
That's why we're here.
Why I Started 11th Step Coffee Co.
I’m Darin, and I know exactly how heavy that morning weight can be.
When I began my recovery journey, I quickly learned that my ol' reliable self will couldn't fix me. Morning prayer and meditation became my daily act of surrender. I found that if I could anchor my day with prayer, meditation, and a conscious effort to steady my mind before the rest of the world woke up, I had a fighting chance.
I didn't just want to launch another online storefront. There are a thousand places to buy coffee. I built 11th Step Coffee Co. because I wanted to roast coffee that serves as a companion for that crucial first hour. We want to be the warm cup in your hands that encourages your morning meditation, journaling, and inventory.
The Anchor: You Can't Do This Alone
Nobody stays sober, sane, or steady on their own. You need something to hold onto.
For some of us, that's a verse from Scripture that lands at the exact right moment. For others, it's a prayer whispered before the kids wake up. Sometimes, it's just knowing someone else is fighting the same fight and didn't quit this morning.
That's the heart behind The Anchor, our free daily devotional. It shows up in your inbox every morning, takes two minutes to read, and follows a simple rhythm:
- A Scripture to steady yourself.
- An Honest Word about what the fight actually feels like.
- An Action Step for today.
- A Prayer you can breathe through right where you're sitting.
There are no upsells, no premium tiers, and absolutely no guilt if you skip a day. (Sign up at devo.11thstepcoffeeco.com).
For Those Standing By
And if you aren't in recovery yourself, but someone you love is? You belong here, too.
Watching someone you care about disappear into addiction—or fight their way back out—changes you. You've spent years hoping, worrying, and wondering if this time will be different. Maybe you're buying this coffee for the tasting notes, or maybe it's a quiet way of standing with someone in the fight.
Either way, every bag sold keeps The Anchor free and funds recovery resources and outreach. You're not just buying coffee. You're making sure the next person who reaches for help finds a hand waiting.
This month, we're lovingly supporting New Now Village, a tiny home commUNITY in Montana providing sober living and much more.
Welcome to the Fight
So, whether you're working Step Eleven, starting Day One over, or standing beside someone who is: welcome. The coffee's good. The pot's on.
And you're not doing this alone.
